Who I Am
About the Trainer
My name is Leira, and I have an interesting job history. Let me explain.
I have danced from a young age, meaning I've always enjoyed being active and being fit. I danced for a number of years, I enjoyed PE and gave it my all.
At the age of 16, I was scouted by a modelling agency, where I went on to work for them for three years until the age of 19. During the time I worked as a model, I worked with two different personal trainers, who really helped to add to my passion to exercise. At the age of 20, I realised that I was ready for a change, and with my passion for fitness reignited, I knew I had found what I wanted to do.
I have experience being on both sides of trying to improve fitness. I qualified to be a Level 2 Fitness Instructor at the end of October 2019, and was quickly thrown into life working as an instructor the very next Saturday in my job working at a fitness centre as a lifeguard.
I spent 5 months working full time as a fitness instructor, teaching a wide variety of classes and fitness courses during the week until the UK was put into lockdown. In lockdown, I put my head down and continued to train myself as if I was my own client, achieving goals with what little equipment that I had. During this time, I also passed my Level 3 Personal Training qualification.
As time went by during lockdown, I realised that my passion for fitness extended to healthcare as well, and began to look into different avenues to pursue this passion. In September of 2021, I undertook an Access Course to retrain and enter higher education. In September of 2022, I started my BSc in Physiotherapy, where my passion continued to blossom. I graduated from my degree in July 2025 with a First Class Honours, and am now registered with the HCPC (PH151202).
